Contemporary life is saturated with images and image technologies. Such multi-media environments pervade daily experience and condition social formations. The delivery systems for these images and the planes of communication often involve screens: the cinema, the laptop, mobile devices, cell phones, but also canvases, narrative scrolls, theater scrims. These new cultural landscapes require new modes of literacy. Graduate students in literature, cinema studies, art history, media studies, anthropology, etc. are invited to participate. Please send a detailed abstract in English of 500-700 words by April 15, 2014 to: misemono9@gmail.com.
