"Migration, Logistics and Unequal Citizens
in Contemporary Global Context"

During the past couple of weeks, COVID-19 has cast us all in an uncertain future. Given the abundant travel and meeting restrictions, and the real risks posed by air travel and large meetings in the current environment, we had to make difficult decisions. In light of the worsening situation, we have decided to postpone the CHCI-Mellon Global Humanities Institute on "Migration, Logistics and Unequal Citizens in Contemporary Global Context" by ONE YEAR and to schedule it from 1st-10th June 2021 in National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Even though the programme has been postponed, we will keep the project going by engaging in several activities online. We are going to establish a Facebook Page for all participants to share their projects and other information. The research group will upload relevant information periodically to keep the momentums of the group. Additionally, we are expecting to have an online event every other month starting from April to Dec. 2020, including study groups, database building (reading materials, documentaries, NGO websites……etc.), cluster discussion, or online forum.

在過去數週中，新冠病毒疾病(COVID-19) 疫情已影響既定的學術活動與相關工作。有鑑於世界各國的旅遊與集會限制，以及在此同時航空旅行與大型活動的感染風險，我們必須做出困難的抉擇。在未見疫情消退的狀況下，2020年「全球人文研究機構」（Global Humanities Institute, GHI）籌委會決議「當前全球脈絡下的遷徙、物流部署與不平等公民」之夏日學校(the CHCI-Mellon Global Humanities Institute on "Migration, Logistics and Unequal Citizens in Contemporary Global Context")將延期一年。夏日學校將推延至2021年6月1日至10日於新竹國立交通大學舉辦。

然而，雖然夏日學校順延，籌委會將持續以線上模式進行本研究計劃，包括社群討論小組、線上讀書會、遠距論壇等，並預計規劃2020年4月至12月，每兩個月一次的線上活動。線上研究計劃將於近期公告於夏日學校官網: http://ghi2020.blog.nctu.edu.tw/
