Purpose Statement:
To cope with varied forms of conflicts rising from gigantic changes in inter-Asian societies, it is imperative to first form research teams across disciplines, universities, and countries, then initiate reexamination of history, analytics of current issues, decolonization of knowledge, and exploration of the question of community, and finally come up with thinking strategies and solutions for the building of cross-border cooperation and co-living society in inter-Asian societies. In this regard, the International Center for Cultural Studies (ICCS) & International Institute for Cultural Studies(IICS) calls for excellent short-term visiting scholars to stimulate pluralistic research and innovation, and encourage cross-disciplinary exchange.
Eligibility:
1. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree, and a full-time faculty position at a foreign university or institution.
2. Scholars in humanities and social sciences-related fields are welcome.
3. Applicants’ research proposals need to match the ICCS’s master project.
Application Timeline:
First Round: Application starting from now to May 10th, 2018
(Expected duration: August 1st, 2018 ~ December 31st, 2018)
Second Round: Application starting from July 1st, 2018 to August 31st, 2018 (Expected duration: October 1st, 2018 ~ June 30th, 2019)
Duration: At least one month, but no more than three months
Application Materials:

4. Submit electronic copy of application materials to: iccs@nctu.edu.tw, with the subject line as “Short-term Visiting Scholar— xxx (your name).” Email submission is complete upon the reception of the ICCS’s confirmation email.
Financial Support: A monthly stipend of at least NTD$ 20,000 for each short-term visiting scholar.
Responsibilities of the ICCS and Short-term Visiting Scholars:
1. The ICCS will provide short-term visiting scholars accommodation.
2. The ICCS will facilitate short-term visiting scholars in related administrative matters.
3. The ICCS provides access to the NCTU’s campus resources, including borrowing and lending privileges in the library and use of computer of the Information Technology Service Center.
4. Short-term visiting scholar should expected to deliver at least two public lectures and to participate in in the ICCS & IICS’s academic activities.
5. Short-term visiting scholar’s research result during the appointment should be incorporated into the research result of the ICCS.
Screening:
The Director and executive committee members of the ICCS will invite scholars in related fields, if necessary, to form a task force and screen the criteria and research proposals.
Announcement of Results:
The ICCS expects to appoint three short-term visiting scholars. Announcement of results will be posted in the ICCS’s website. Each applicant will receive notification of the application result via email.

一、徵求宗旨：因應亞際社會巨大變化中產生不同型態的衝突，需透過跨領域、跨校以及跨國的研究團隊，進行歷史重估、當前問題分析、知識解殖以及共同體難題探討，以便提出亞際地區跨地合作與共生社會的思考策略與解決方案。因此希望透過國際優秀研究員短期進駐合作，以激發更多元之創作研究能量、鼓勵跨領域交流。
二、申請資格：申請人須具國內外大學博士學位，並已在國外大學任教或機構單位任職。歡迎人文社會科學相關領域學者申請，研究主題需配合中心總體計畫。
三、申請時間：
第一期：即日起至2018年5月10日止（預計駐校時間為2018年8月1日至2018年12月31日之間）
第二期：2018年7月1日至2018年8月31日止（預計駐校時間為2018年10月1日至2019年6月30日之間）
四、駐校時間：至少1個月，至多3個月。
五、繳交資料：
1. 駐校研究員申請書。
2. 研究人員個人資料表。
3. 駐校研究計畫書（請說明駐校期間能夠提供中心計畫之主要貢獻）。
4.以電子檔寄至 iccs@nctu.edu.tw，信件主旨以「駐校研究員--OOO（姓名）」為題，並以收到中心確認回函為憑。
六、獎助名額：每人每月提供至少新台幣2萬生活津貼。
七：權益義務：
1.本中心將提供研究員住宿安排。
2.本中心將協助駐校行政事宜。
3.駐校研究期間，可使用交大校園資源（圖書館借還書、計中電腦使用）。
4.駐校期間需定期參與中心學術活動，並至少發表兩場公開演講。
5.駐校期間研究員之研究成果需納為中心研究成果。
八、審查方式
由本中心主任、中心執行委員會委員、必要時邀請相關領域學者，組成審查
小組，針對獎助資格及計畫書進行審查。
九、徵選結果：
預定徵選3名研究員進駐本校，徵選結果將公告於本中心網頁，並以電子郵件個別通知申請者。
