本工作坊將於2017年5月24日假國立清華大學教育館225室舉行，盼能匯集各界對於科學知識傳播過程時，衍生的相關課題共同討論，敬請蒞臨指教。

One of the most intriguing and insufficiently explored issues in history of science, despite a large number of publications already devoted to it, is the process of transmission of scientific knowledge. The major difficulty for its study is that the process of transmission was multi-faceted: it may have included an interaction between learners and instructors with markedly different cultural backgrounds, as it was in the case of the transmission of mathematical and astronomical knowledge by Western scholars to their Chinese counterparts that began in China in the 17th century, or consisted of attempts to introduce new ideas indirectly, for instance, through teaching Chinese painters new techniques of painting that involved knowledge of the Western principles of geometrical perspective. The workshop will unite national and international scholars working on various topics; it will especially feature the history of mathematics in Asia and Europe, while dealing closely with the phenomenon of transmission.
